What the heck is wrong with the Eastern Conference? Seems that, apart from Barrie and Mississauga, all the good teams are out West and the East has amassed all the crappy clubs.

This is how pathetically weak the East is |

Kingston, at 8-10-1, sits fourth in the Eastern Conference. That's right, a team that is 2 games below .500 currently has home ice advantage in the
playoffs, should the playoffs begin right this moment. To further illustrate the weakness of the East this season, Kingston is only 4 points away from missing
the playoffs while at the same time being only 1 point out of first place in the East Division. If Kingston was in the Western Conference, they'd be tied
for 9th place out of 10 teams.

I throw some factors out there.
1) Money, willingness to dole out some bucks. 2) Hockey people guiding the clubs that emphasize team play 3) Discipline on and off the ice such as someone that doesn't perform or does something against club rules the club will administer corrective actions. 4) GTA talent pool, scouting done in a high population density with little amount of travel 5) Euro scouting and willingness to get the player to play in NA 6) Style of play, all out war at times 7) Rivalry, hated opponents makes for more intense play This is just my opinion in comparing the West as a whole to the East and not pointed to individual clubs.
It's hockey time - Keep your head up .

Hey Clue, they are 2 games below 500 and will continue to drop, look for the other clubs in the East to improve while Kingston treads water. Can't wait to
hear the spin by management when Kingston fails to make playoffs.

I don't think they could miss the playoffs if they tried.

but .... Try they will....
Something needs to wake them up -- they are a whole lot better on paper, unless the paper has been edited.... |

I often see many of them at the Vees' games, Frontnutt. Could it be that they are checking out what the Vees are doing to win? Some of them have former
teammates on the Vees and it could be they are just there to support them.
It is a nice gesture on their part but it could be something more. If they really are paying attention, they will see that the Vees do not play long shifts all that often and when they go to their top players in key situations, they produce. There are a couple of lessons to be learned here. Shorter shifts and production by the top players and a better two-way effort from more of the forwards. I am not being facetious here. I honestly think the Fronts are close to winning more often than losing. They just need to do these three things for starters and see where it takes them. |

you have to have heart and you have to have leaders that can lead.
When Cullen came heree you could tell he wanted to win. What happens they replace him and put him onth ebench so he cannot get any ice time ( he will not be here at xmas) Mort gets told last year that he will get a position this year to shine for the scouts. ooops shine the bench maybe Moon comes back with his same old attitude Gilmour seems to have given up on his style of coaching and picked up Mavety's "How to coach in 12 beers or less" Rest of the players really do not care. FRONT NUT SORRY BUT YOU ARE WRONG The team that we had on paper when the season ended last year looked great. |
