Fronts had a much smarter game then the last few. It wasnt a very high tempo matchup but more of a chessmatch. Both teams played pretty solid defensively with bad bounces being the only way to score. Fronts dressed 7 D and played Tessier on a regular shift (for the first time as a front) with Graves in place of what seemed to be a benched O'Grady (don't know if it was because of poor performance or injury, although if it was injury he wouldnt of had to dress as per the rules of a first round pick) Tessier and Graves were a solid third pair throughout. It was amazing to see how much smarter and more effective the D core was when they played all 6. McKeown, McEneny and Duchene were more fresh for the final push to tie the game. Like I said it was a slow but structured game with forwards on both sides being careful of being caught which made for less physicality and more finesse. Forwards who stood out were McGlynn (2 goals) and Pawley brought the only high energy performance on both teams. He had a great play kiling a penalty in the O zone with 3 steelheads on his back, gutsy effort. Both goalies were solid and made saves when they needed two. Although they lost in the shootout, I think the Fronts needed that last second comeback goal to have something to rally round during this slow start to the season. Just for those who missed the game. Cheers
